Over the past few months we have asked our Service Users what courses they feel would assist their mental health recovery so that we can tailor our Academy courses for our local people. In response to this we have designed specific courses that we hope will assist your mental health recovery.
Our partner agencies have vast experience of co-delivering wellbeing course with people with lived experiences, which we will be utilising too.
We have also been to look at other well established Recovery Colleges and Academies to see what they offer and how they run. We have listed to Service Users who have attended other Academies about how valued they felt and how the academies had greatly improved their mental health and social life.
“Coming to the Academy has helped me more than anything – the courses gave me the tools to get my life back on track”
“Meeting people in the same boat helped more than I thought possible!”
We will be asking you for your feedback after any courses that you have attended and we will be listening to ideas you may have to improve and develop new courses.
Moving forwards we will also be working on the principle of co-production and co-delivery, which means we aim to develop and deliver our sessions with tutors and peer trainers who have lived experience of mental health issues.
The Wellbeing Academy is built on the idea that learning together makes us stronger and supports our recovery.
